What it's about
By day, Eddie sells presidential bobbleheads over the phone. By night, he pours his heart into Killing Karens, a no budget horror comedy about a masked vigilante dishing out karma to the world's most entitled complainers. His loyal friend Joe helps behind the camera, while his imaginary creation, The Menacer-a mix of superhero and slasher villain-serves as his chaotic muse. With his baby due any moment and his bank account empty, Eddie moves his family into his mother in law Nancy's house. Nancy, played by Academy Award nominee Lorraine Bracco, is a force of nature with an unfiltered mouth and a live-in adult son who has long since given up on life. For Eddie, every meal and conversation feels like a battle for his dignity. Desperate to keep his dream alive, Eddie sells off everything he owns-his Dracula posters, the family van, even his own blood-to keep filming. When fading Hollywood producer Karen Brazo Fuerte, played by Emmy winner Leah Remini, offers him a shot at real fame, Eddie must decide whether to take one final swing at success or face total collapse. As deadlines close in, his marriage falters, and Nancy's patience wears thin, Eddie faces the choice every dreamer must make: give up or go all in. The Mother, The Menacer, and Me is a wild, heartfelt comedy about ambition, family, and the ridiculous courage it takes to keep chasing your dream when the world-and your in-laws-tell you to quit.
