What it's about

Sarah Asproon arrives in New Orleans after the death of her former lover, Lionel Durrington, to serve as executor of his massive estate. Debbie Morrant informs her that she must evaluate the competing claims of heirs including George Durrington, Alfred Durrington, and Sonny Durrington over a span of eleven days. Sarah conducts her investigation by engaging intimately with the candidates, exposing hidden debts and family corruption along the way. She eventually uncovers a plot orchestrated by Alfred and discovers the root of Sonny's trauma through background provided by Dana Durrington. Following a final ultimatum that forces the family to sign away their right to secrecy, Sarah learns that Lionel faked his death to secure half the fortune for himself.
