What it's about
Michael Terenzi boards a ferry in New Orleans and encounters Sarah Asproon, initiating an intense liaison. Sarah reveals to her publisher Dorothy that Michael is chosen as the final subject for her hundred-partner book project before his wedding to Helen. As the days progress, Sarah exerts strict control over their meetings, introducing psychological games and orchestrating encounters with other individuals like Alicia. Helen grows suspicious and tracks Michael, while preparations for the ceremony continue in parallel. Ultimately, Sarah terminates the arrangement and discloses her true motives, prompting Michael to return to Helen.
