What it's about
Beirut, 1982. The secretive and ingenuous life of Lina, twelve, revolves around Siam, her aunt's Syrian maid, aged eighteen. The little girl decides to watch over the older one. She helps organize her romantic rendezvous, defends her interests - Yet she remains virtually invisible in the eyes of the maid and, moreover, in the eyes of her family, notably her destructive, reckless and gambling-addicted father. In an uncertain daily environment, that of war, passion and frustration, Lina attempts to reach out to the adult world, yet remains untamed.
